Erldunda

Left my underground camp site at Cooper Pedy today and couldnt help pondering yet again the human endeavour that has been wasted gathering a stone for adornment that has ruined such a beautiful landscape as the Stuart Range.

Dog Proof Fence travelling 5,800 klms across the East West landscape to keep Dingoes North of the sheep grazing properties.
On the road today for 480klms, to make Erldunda, a jump off point for Uluru.  Drove through heavy rain that turned the Mallee trees into a lime green, Desert Oaks into a dark Olive green with black trunks and all along the roadside leached yellow tussocked grass nestled into the deep red/ochre earth. I saw two pairs of wedgetails sitting out the rain as the cars travelled by and claypans silver with water.

  1. I'm enjoying the photos Viv. The tent photo could be a candidate for Gloria's "Fabulous Facades" workshop!
